Very Funny TopGear Crew Vs Rednecks

TopGear crew from the BBC goes to USA and found trouble in redneck town. These guys wore trying to make their trip trughout USA more fun by writing in each other cars to see which one draws the most attention in order to get the other one killed or in jail, obviously this British guys had no idea what they about to find.

A water powered car engine?

A water powered car, that’s right and it sounds too good to be true, this “inventor” knows how to do it and he evens has a car that runs on water, well sort of.  He converts water (H2O) into a gas (HHO) and uses the gas as a fuel to the engine motor, he even creates a hot fame with the gas that is very hot yet stays cool to the touch of the hand.
What is a little unclear is if the car itself has the system to convert the water into the gas, or the gas hat to be generated else where, and how much power does it takes to break the water molecules into such a gas, anyway the technology seems pretty cool, and I Hope someday I can drive a car where instead of carrying a tank of gasoline I can be carrying a smaller tank of water that the car will break on demand to fuel the motor. Imagine the possibilities, water is cheaper and is no flammable like gasoline, that that is an awesome idea that hopefully researches at universities and private companies can bring to live the near future.

DVD sun visor for your car

I found this cool DVD player/sun visor for your car, which makes a cool add on to put in your car, the picture on the website look cheap but, it would be a nice thing to have specially for those passengers who like to do passenger seat driving if you know what I mean, I like it because it looks just like a normal visor but perhaps just a little bit thicker than most, but remember there is a DVD player and an LCD screen, so if you are like me and drive like a road warrior this will help your passenger put his or her mind off the road, there are places where having one of these is illegal so you better check before you get on of this.

From Dodge Intrepid to Dodge Neon

For the longest time I used to drive a 1996 Dodge Intrepid V6 3.6L DOHC, overall it was a nice and cheap reliable American car which I got for $2000 back in 2002 with only 84,000 miles, of course the water pump went out at about 103,000 which did not surprise me at all since most vehicles is recommended to have the water pump and timing belt replace at 100K miles.  After 5 years and 50,000 miles later the car is still running which is not bad at all for a used car which was 6 years old when I got it.

Dodge Neon
Dodge Intrepid Now in 2007 I have decided that is time to “retire” the Dodge Intrepid and get something more economic and with better gas mileage, so now I drive a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT 4cy 2.0L which is awesome because instead of paying around $40 to fill the thank for the Intrepid now I can fill the Dodge Neon for less than $25 and so far I have been getting 30 miles to the gallon. This is not bad considering that when the car was new it was supposed to get 29 city mpg and 35 highway mpg.

I would recommend anyone who wants to save money on gasoline and has a  6 cylinder car to switch to a more economic and efficient  4 cylinder car, and if you can afford and hybrid well that’s even better

Yet another reason for not smoking

To save money of course, do I need to say more? well you might be thinking that the money saved is probably not much, but depending on which state you live, you’ll be surprise how much a pack of cigarettes will cost you, specially if your state will tax you for them.

I just read in the news about a guy who in the past had ordered lots cigarettes from out of state using the internet, he was thinking that because he didn’t had to pay tax out of state then it will be cheaper.  Well I guess back then it was, until the state government find out about it and now he is paying 1/3 his paycheck in back-taxes to the state in order to cover for the $8,000 that he owes to the government in taxes.

Mike Doyle Around the World

Back in 2006 I had the pleasure to meet Mike Doyle and his girlfriend Audrey. Mike is a pretty cool guy because he remind me of a surfer friend that I had, although mike also likes to surf just like me, we never had the opportunity to surf together, he and his girlfriend are avid climbers, I remember when they used to go climbing just about every weekend and sometimes they would go climbing super early in the morning before work.

mike doyleWell this couple had taken some time off to travel around the world, they wore traveling around the USA and Mexico, now they came back to the states and I had the chance to hang with them the night before they left for Australia.  Mike told me  that he wanted to do a lot of climbing and also surfing, in fact he told me he was already looking to buy a used surfboard in Australia, but i think he just want to surfing to make me jealous.

If you are not a climber you probably don’t have a clue who Mike Doyle is, he is been featured in Gripped e-Mag where you can find Gripped Interviews Mike Doyle article (he is in the red shirt) and you can also visit his website www.mikedoyle.ca where he has pictures and logs of his trip around the world, I hope to write another post/update when mike and Audrey come back from Australia.

One of the highest rope swings ever and it looks fun!

Whos said rope swings are only for kids? this is the coolest rope swing i have ever seen its like a combination of bonjee jumping and a giant rope swing at the same, you drop vertical as if you wore bujee jumping but then you feel how the rope starts to swing you to one side and then to the other, this definitelly is more extreme than your old-school canopy tree tours where you cruize along zip lines in the rainforest.
