Better deal than reviewing JohnChow.com?

A few posts back I reviewed JohnChow.com, my goal for doing the review was to let people know about what the site is all about and why it could be useful to them, I also did it because the site will provide a link back mine in exchange for doing the review, at the time I did the review John’s site had a Page Rank of 4, so it  was a good deal for me to have a link back to my site from a site with that kind of page rank, that way Google will like me more.  Today after browsing Jon’s site I noticed that he linked to one of his friends site www.tylercruz.com which as a Page Rank of 5, and for my surprise he was doing another review me and I’ll link back deal.  You don’t have to be a genius to figure out that a PR of 5 is better than a PR of 4, but there are a few things to consider:  what kind of audience both sites have and how many visitors could potentially discover my site from either john’s or TylerCruz.

I already got an email from John Chow who mention that he already included my site in his, because of the review I made, which is great, the more the better, although Johns’ site has a lower PR than Tyler’s site, I feel I can gain more traffic coming from JohnChow.com than from TylerCruz.com

So if you haven’t reviewed any of these sites yet, which one will you review and why?

This is how a web entrepreneur starts

Tyler Cruz is a self made man, because of his curiosity with web development early in his life, now he has a lot of sites that makes him probably more money than what I make right now,  anyway I am glad to see someone who is that young and has a nice income from the Internet, however he is not a huge money maker on the Internet I am sure someday he will come up with a huge idea that will make him a popular guy on the Internet.  In his blog he has a a few posts that will describe his up and downs of being a web entrepreneur, I like this one, its about a domain name he sold for pretty good money if you ask me,  He also has done a few contests to promote his website, someday I would like to find a business partner like him and come up with an idea that would change the world. If you want to know more about Tyler, I encourage you to visit the site and if you have time, who knows you might find some information that could be inspirational for you.

How to drive a jeep

Many people have 4×4 SUV’s, unfortunately they rarely use the 4×4 capabilities of such vehicles,  and when they do its usually for a little inconvenience on the road, like icy or muddy road. The real enthusiast that love to drive off-road and will try to come up with any excuse to use the 4 wheel dive have more experience and some of them are masters when it comes to driving a 4×4 car. I found a really amazing video of a Jeep that was slowly climbing a very tricky and very steep rock, this is amazing because the place where this jeep was going looks very very technical, one mistake and the jeep can roll over very easy, but the skilled driver in this vide makes everything look so easy. A word of advise to any rookies: don’t try something similar unless you have LOTS of experience rock climbing in your 4×4.

Really FAST 16 cylinder & 4 turbochargers car

This is the video the Bugatti Veyron  that does 253 Mph or 407 kmh at its top speed, this car is amazing, just because it is a street car that develops such amazing speeds, the car is not cheap at 1 Million dollars its pretty pricey. The car car develops 1001 horse power, and when trying to archive the top speed of 407 kmh, at this extreme speeds, you only have fuel for 12 minutes. This car is way faster than a Lamborghini Murcielago or a Formula 1 car.

TopGear Crew American Road Trip

A while back I posted about the Top Gear crew vs. rednecks, that was a short clip from a full episode of the British  program Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson, well for those of you who would like to enjoy the full episode I have included the video on this site. This is the Episode 3 from Season 9, and they wanted to go to American and travel across some states but instead they would try to buy a car for less than it would cost to rent one, and ad the end of the trip try to sell the car and see who of the 3 guys gets most of the money back, along the way they run into a some difficulties. This episode is particularly funny because of the cultural differences between England and USA, enjoy the video.

Off-road motor-powered skate board - No Wheels

In case you are not able to afford the atom, you can always use a skate board to get your thrills going, and now is more fun and way easier to do it off-road style. This is the Scarpar, and its supposed be an off-road skateboard, you can clearly see the motor in the middle, I would hate to image the rider touching the hot motor while landing a back flip. Instead of normal wheels it has the mechanism of a snowmobile which I am guessing that it can also be used in the snow, the concepts is pretty cool, but I am seeing it lacks some form of suspension and speed, however I am sure it would be fun to take it for a spin to place where pavement is not an option. This particular skateboard reminds me of an upside down treadmill.

Save Money by Using a Credit Card the Smart way

I used to to think that credit cards were a bad a idea for anyone, at least anyone who doesn’t needed the money. I never used a credit card for anything up until recently. And the reason I didn’t use a credit card in the past was because of a simple reason, I never had the need to borrow money to buy my stuff.  And credit cards would be the last place I would go to borrow money, just because all credit cards have very high interest rates.  So I usually had enough money in my checking account that I never had to used credit, I used to pay everything with a debit card, which automatically deducts the money from my checking account so I never owed anything to anybody as long as I had enough money to pay for my purchases in my checking account.

A few months ago I found out that my debit card bank gives me 0.25 % back  for every dollar I spend using the debit card, and in deed I had about $35 in rewards for all the money that I spent using the debit card. So I cashed in the rewards and started thinking, about all those credit cards that give that gives you back more percentage for the purchased you made on the credit cards.

After researching several credit car companies, I went online to www.chase.com and they have  plenty of credit cards to choose from, I wanted to go with one that will give me the most cash back and that would be easy to pay online.  After browsing a few I decided to go with Chase Freedom, this credit card gives me 3% cash back for every dollar spend on eligible grocery stores, gas stations and quick service restaurants (That is 11 times more of what my regular debit card was giving me) and any other purchases anywhere else would give me a 1% cash back.

After selecting the card and filling some information, I was surprise to find out I was approved right there on the spot and didn’t need to send any mail to the credit card company, I just hit the submit button and got back an immediate response saying that my application was approved and my credit card will arrive in 2 weeks.

Sure enough 2 weeks later I got  my Chase Freedom credit card, I called the number on the credit car and activated the credit car, then went online with the credit card number to open an online account where I could manage my credit card balances and payments etc. the process was super easy, and i am very satisfied.

Chase Credit Card Application Approved

2 Important things to Remember when getting The Chase Credit Card

  1. The chase freedom credit card allows you to choose your rewards mechanism as cash back or points that you can redeem for gifts at any point in time.  I choose cash back because I would rather have the cash than any other gift since cash is more convenient.
  2. The chase freedom credit card came with this “Payment Protector plan” which is an optional amendment to the credit card agreement.  Basically if your get into a situation that qualifies as financial hardship (such as involuntarily unemployed, hospitalized, or disable, Military reserve etc), then you will not be required to make the minimum monthly payment up to 2 years and it will not affect your credit rating. And this optional plan has a fee cost of 89 cents per $100 of your ending monthly statement balance which will be billed to you credit card, when there is no balance there is no charge. You have 30 days to cancel this optional amendment to get full refund of any fees paid, if you cancel this after 30 days, any fees that you paid for the plan will not be refunded.
  3. Credit card companies are in the business to make money not to loose money, they use the concept of cash back, so that everytime you buy something with the credit card, you get to think of how much cash back you will get as opposed to how much you are spending, if you get into this habbit, you will overlook the value of the purchase and then you will get in to the Credit Card Trap.

I got the credit card just to get 1% and 3% cash back from my purchases, that otherwise I would buy using my debit car and would have gotten only 1/4% cash back. I fully intent to pay my credit card balance in full every month so i get charge effectively zero interest and get the cash back of my purchases.

With this credit card the worst I can do is 1% cash back  which means that for every $100 Dollars I spend using the credit card, the credit card company will give me 1% of the $100 dollars back or $1 dollar.  Now the way i am using the credit card is to get money back and nothing else, since I don’t need to borrow the money because i have spending money in my checking account. So if you are using the credit card just for the same purpose, I recommend you to do what I did, after you receive your credit card in the mail call the phone number in the card immediately and make sure you cancel the payment protector plan.  I know i am not going to need this protector plan and besides if you don’t cancel this “protector plan”, they will charge you 89 cents per every $100 dollars and thus reducing your cash back rate from $1 dollar to 11 cents per $100 of spending.

It hasn’t been a month yet, and I’ve already spend over $600 using my new credit card, and I’ve only spend on things I need and use like gasoline, restaurants and groceries, nothing fancy here, and so far the I have accumulated $9.9 dollars from the cash back of my purchases. So lets say my usual spending per months is about the same every month and I get get $10 every month cash back, that’s $120 per year, it might not seem much but its $120 dollars that I can use for something else and put them to work. The cool thing is that I would had not been able to save this money using a regular debit card.

Chase Credit Card account details

According to Chase, once my dollars cash back gets to be $50 or greater i can request a Check for the dollar amount, and if the cash back gets to be $200 they will cut me a check for $250.  I haven’t receive any money yet but once i get my first check I’ll let you guys know.

Internet Mogul likes to show his "chow"

Ok this is a review of www.johnchow.com, in case you haven’t hear about the website, it is the blog of … well, John Chow, this guy call himself a Dot Com Mogul, and I think that is very true, after all he has a nice online income.  I don’t quite remember how in the world I first came across his website, but I am glad I did, now for me it is one of those sites that I visit regularly (few times a week) because sometimes he will publish useful and interesting information about technology, making money from a blog,  SEO optimization like this, this and this, among other things, sometimes he writes reviews that I particularly don’t really care about but interestingly enough he also posts about his dining out adventures along with pictures of what john chow is about to chow,  now, those pictures or posts are not going to help me when it comes to making money from my site, but it sure adds a spice to his site, which is good because it brings him  more keyword/content.

Overall the www.johnchow.com has a lot of useful information for people who are Internet junkies that want to start making a descent income online, just make sure you read the important stuff ;)

How Fuel cells work

So we’ve sometime heard people or in the news talk about fuel cells powered car, but must people don’t have a clue how a fuel cell works, well a fuel cell is used to produce electricity from hydrogen to power electric cars, which is different than powering cars that burn a hydrogen derived gas in the internal combustion chamber, like the BMW Hydrogen 7. In short I came across a really simple yet very good straight and to the point of how a fuel cell works.

Impossible Ferrari race, now possible thanks to computer

I usually don’t care much for computer animated videos, but this one is pretty cool, it looks like a yellow Ferrari is racing another, someone took the time and created this little clip, which I think its very fun to watch, specially because the things that you see in the video are completely impossible, but now are possible thanks to computer generated graphics.
