running a car on water is a good idea but currently, we do not have a means to effeciently harvest the hydrogen from water. It would take tremendous amounts of energy to convert enough hydrogen gas to sustain transportation. If you are going to make all that energy to make hydrogen why not make an electric car, or even a hydrogen boosted gasoline engine where the engine runs off %15 hydrogen and % 85 gas.

Hi!
In 2008 BMW will test market the Hydrogen powered BMW 750HLi in California. 800 vehicles will be sold to select customers. They only can lease those cars for 2 years and then have to give them back for further inspection. BMW is providing the infrastructure in California to have the neccesary fueling stations available. In Germany there are already test markets for public service vehicles on the run.
We are getting there my friend.
