It would take tremendous amounts of energy to convert enough hydrogen gas to sustain transportation. In 2008 BMW will test market the Hydrogen powered BMW 750HLi in California. 800 vehicles will be sold to select customers. They only can lease those cars for 2 years and then have to give them back for further inspection. BMW is providing the infrastructure in California to have the neccesary fueling stations available.
