Most(in what i have found) best practices suggest that you buy vs building an ETL tool, although there are benefits to building your own tool, such as there is no learning curve for you but if someone else is wanting to use it then how difficult is it for them to learn it? Buying an ETL software is a big decision and you should do some research on it so you know you are getting your ROI on the software.
