From QuickTime (.MOV) to windows friendly (.AVI) for free

My digital camera is a Nikon Coolpix, and like many other brands out there, it not only can take pictures but also can take video files, which is pretty nice because sometimes an image is not enough to capture the full motion things in life or sometime you want to capture a quick clip, these days capture video from a digital picture camera is very common since the video resolution is very good. If you have windows vista Ultimate edition of Home Premium edition, you can even put your videos into a DVD to share them with your friends and family. My camera records video directly into the popular QuickTime formatted (.MOV)  files, and I am sure many digital cameras out there do the same thing.  This is very inconvenient because it will not work if you wan to edit the video  using windows movie maker or put it in a DVD using windows DVD maker because this files are what I call: not windows friendly for the mentioned seasons.

Fortunately for me I found a free and very easy to use program that works on windows vista that will allow me to convert my QuickTime movies to a more windows friendly format like (.AVI) files. You can convert one file at a time or do a batch conversion to quickly convert a series of videos.

The program is called MP4Cam2AVI Easy Converter, you can search it on Google or use this link: mp4cam2avi

Now I can easily convert my QuickTime (.MOV) movie files to a format that windows movie maker understand and I am on my way to editing the video from my digital picture camera.

Below I have included the picture of the free program that will convert .MOV files to AVI files
